Animal Care Trust (ACT) is a registered UK charity helping transform the lives of suffering animals in northern Taiwan.

We work tirelessly to rescue dogs maimed by snares, cats hit by cars, injured wildlife, and animals intended as food.

With no government financial assistance, ACT‘s vital rescue work only continues thanks to the generosity of people like you.

"BECAUSE, JUST LIKE US, OUR FELLOW ANIMALS WANT TO LIVE WITHOUT PAIN OR SUFFERING"

Animal Care Trust (ACT)

WHAT WE DO

RESCUE

We will rescue any animal, anywhere in northern Taiwan at any time, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year.

REHABILITATE

We get our rescues the best veterinary care available and feed a raw diet for rapid recovery and great health.

REHOME

We find the very best homes for our rescued dogs and cats but always take them back if situations change.

OUR STORY

ACT IV

ACT was borne from the vision and passion of Englishman Sean McCormack, who has worked tirelessly to end animal suffering in Taiwan for almost twenty years, and is the fourth nonprofit he has founded to promote animal welfare in Taiwan.

ACT OF LOVE

We are extremely proud of our latest ongoing project, The ARK (Animal Rescue Kennels), a 50-animal, five-garden facility providing temporary or long-term care to rescued dogs. Dedicated, full-time staff provide a healthy raw diet, one-on-one care, walks, and lots of love to the dogs in their care.

POSITIVE IMPACT

Taiwan's stunning scenic areas are plagued with hunters' and poachers' steel leg-hold traps and wire snares. ACT works around the clock to transform the lives of animals who have been maimed by these prolific, indiscriminate, and horrifically cruel devices.

GETTING OUR ACT TOGETHER

Sean registered ACT in 2015 with his wife, Judy Hsu, and childhood friend Dave Penfold. Lifelong friend Paul Reynolds, known for his respected thirty-five-year career in film, stage and TV, became a co-founder in 2017 after visiting Taiwan and witnessing for himself the cruelty Sean and Judy work so hard to end.

ACTIVISM

ACT works hard to raise awareness of all animal-welfare and rights issues in Taiwan and our efforts have been well documented in newspapers, TV shows, and online articles. Our rescue videos have had millions of views online and help to tell the world about the unnecessary suffering many of Taiwan's wild and stray animals endure.
