Animal Care Trust (ACT) is a registered UK charity helping transform the lives of suffering animals in northern Taiwan.

We work tirelessly to rescue dogs maimed by snares, cats hit by cars, sick and injured wildlife, and animals intended as food.

With no government financial assistance, ACT‘s Taiwan animal-rescue work only continues thanks to the generosity of people like you.

The ACT rescue team are renowned for going the extra mile for an animal in need, no matter the location and at any time of night or day.

RESCUE

Whatever their ailment or injury, all our rescues get the veterinary help they need and are fed a raw diet for rapid recovery and superior health.

TREAT

REHOME

We find the very best homes for our rescued dogs and cats and always take them back even many years later should situations change.

REHOME

SANCTUARY

Wildlife are always released if healthy enough, and our dedicated team provides lifelong care to all animals not suitable for release or rehoming.

Vet Bill Appeal II

So far this year, ACT has rescued or brought in 40 dogs and cats in need of help. Most were suffering greatly and in desperate need of veterinary attention. Of these animals, 16 still have outstanding vet bills, for everything from X-rays and shots to amputation and intensive care.

PLEASE HELP US TO PAY THEIR BILLS SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE HELPING MORE. THANK YOU!

HOW CAN HELP

Custom Image

VOLUNTEER

Giving up your free time to help animals can be incredibly rewarding. Whatever you can offer, from photography to event organizing, dog walking to translation, we can put your skills or knowledge to good use helping us do more for the stricken animals of Taiwan.

Custom Image

DONATE

By donating, you are helping transform the life of another suffering animal in Taiwan. Want to really make a huge difference? Consider making a monthly donation—it will help us plan for the future, and knowing we have funds coming in every month provides real security.

ADOPT

Adopting (or fostering) one of our rescues is a fantastic way to make a difference—not only to the dog or cat you are opening your home to, but also to the next suffering stray we can help thanks to the extra space you are creating, giving us the physical space to help more.

HUGE IMPACT ON ANIMAL WELFARE

The ACT team has been improving the welfare of animals in Taiwan for over 20 years, from rescue and rehoming of suffering animals to investigation and reporting of animal abuse.

HOW TO BECOME AN ACT VOLUNTEER

Registering as a volunteer for ACT is easy. Simply write your email address and click on the Sign Up button. We’ll be in touch soon after, and you’ll be invited to provide a short list of the skills or knowledge we can put to good use for the animals. Don’t worry if you don’t think you are experienced enough in anything; as long as you’re enthusiastic, you can be a great asset.

Give a rescued dog or cat a home through simple adoption or temporary fostering. Only in Taiwan for a limited time? Then fostering is for you. The animal benefits from getting lots of one-on-one attention, and you get rewarding companionship for as long as you suits your situation.

THE ACT

Become a regular donor and receive updates from your chosen dog or cat. You can donate monthly, quarterly, biannually, or yearly, and are free to stop at any time. It’s a great way to support one animal while helping our charity continue saving more.
